The SDL452-80C is an 800mm remote-controlled tracked mower with a 452cc LONCIN engine. We build it for ground you would rather not walk. It climbs steep slopes, cuts rough grass and turns around trees. The two clips below are the machine working in real conditions, on terrain that stalls a walk-behind.

Most of these go to people managing steep banks, orchards, roadside verges, golf-course rough or municipal grass. That is work where pushing a mower is dangerous or simply not possible. Here you keep clear of the blades. The tracks do the climbing.

Watch it work

Why this one handles slopes

  • 800mm cutting width. A wide swath covers ground fast, and the deck is sized for rough ground, not a manicured lawn.
  • 452cc LONCIN engine at 9.0kW. Real torque for thick grass, tall weeds and uphill cutting. It does not bog down under load.
  • Remote control. You stand well back from the deck, which on ditches, banks and steep ground decides whether you can quote the job at all.
  • Rubber tracks. They grip slopes and soft ground where wheels spin, and ground pressure is low enough to spare the turf.
  • 24V battery plus gasoline. Electric start, with the range and power a petrol engine gives you.
  • Powder-coated finish. Damp, sun and weather will not take the paint off in one season.

Where the 800mm tracked mower earns its keep

  • Steep garden and estate banks where push-mowing is too risky
  • Orchards and vineyards, cutting tall grass between rows while the operator stays clear
  • Roadside verges and drainage ditch slopes for municipal crews
  • Golf-course rough, sports fields and parks
  • Overgrown plots being cleared or held back

What buyers usually ask

Gradient comes up first, every time, and the tracked chassis is the answer. The question is where the operator should not stand, not how steep the machine can climb. Where a walk-behind slides out with a person behind it, we mow by remote. Nobody is on the hill.

Learning to run it takes less time than buyers expect. Drive and cutting sit on separate controls, and most operators are confident inside a day.

On certification, the mower family carries EPA-compliant engine options, and we can supply the certificate for U.S. import and the Canadian market.

Questions we get asked

Why use a remote-controlled mower instead of a ride-on?

Because the ground does not allow it. On banks, embankments, orchards and wet verges a ride-on tips, and the operator walking behind a mower is one wet patch away from a slip. Remote control removes the person from that slope. The machine holds the angle on its own and one operator can run the whole job.

What does the 800mm cutting width suit?

A mix of open lawn and awkward ground. Narrower decks squeeze through more gates and between trees; wider decks cover acreage faster. If your work is mostly open field, a wider model pays for itself. If it is mostly obstacles, stay at this size or narrower.

Can it cut wet or long grass?

Wet grass slows any mower. This class copes better than a conventional deck because the tracks keep traction when the ground goes soft underneath. Very long grass may want a first pass at height before you cut to the finish level, which is a technique question rather than a limit of the machine.

How steep a slope can it handle?

Rubber-tracked machines hold traction well past the angle an operator should attempt on foot. Above roughly 25 degrees, remote operation is effectively the only safe way to mow. Tell us your gradient and the surface and we will confirm the working angle for your ground.

What should I buy with the mower?

Blades, belts and a spare set of filters. Add a second remote battery if you mow long days. None of it costs much, and each of those parts stops the machine when it fails. Ask for the parts list with part numbers so you can reorder the right item from your own country.
